Experts to help entrepreneurs compete in Asean single market

Eight local and international experts will share their expertise this month to help prepare local entrepreneurs for 2015 Asean Economic Community (AEC).

The Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has invited these experts for the  MCCI Business Summit 2013 on August 16.

The experts invited will talk about branding, managing business, inclusive growth, policies for growth, technology and other relevant topics that will help entrepreneurs compete when the AEC 2015 comes into effect, said MCCI vice president Stanley Go during a briefing last Friday.

“The topics of the speakers during the summit will hopefully help entrepreneurs learn what should be done as early as now to prepare themselves for the opportunities and challenges in the AEC 2015, which includes having an  Asean single market,” said Go, who is also the summit chairman.

Peter Limqueco, summit co-chairman, said the summit would be a whole-day affair at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC), which is one of the highlights of this year’s Mandaue Business Month celebration, with the theme “Engaging Change: Be Fit. Be Connected. Be Ahead.”

One of the key speakers, Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, will discuss the The Road to Competitiveness: A Policy Agenda “Growing your Business and Competing Globally.”

Other speakers include Norio Usui, Asian Development Bank senior country economist; Dr. Ateneo Del Carmen of Ateneo Graduate School of Business; Jacqueline Alexis Thng, Lexis branding chief; John Philip S. Orbeta, Ayala Corp. managing director and head for corporate resources; Nader Anvari, Orbeta Digilab Inc.chief marketing and strategy officer;  Tita Puangco, and Ancilla Enterprise Development Consulting chief executive officer.

Mandaue Business Month will officially kickoff on August 8 with a Mandaue Bridge Park launch at the park below the Mandaue side of the Marcelo Fernan Bridge.

Other summit highlights include a tree planting event and anti-dengue day on August 17, and Search for WINNERS Season 3 awarding on August 20.
