Tonacao rules CUC 100k
ANDY Tonacao won the grueling final leg of the Cebu Ultra Runners Club (CUC) 100-kilometer Ultra marathon yesterday.
Tonacao, also a top placer in the second leg, finished the race that started in Tabuelan town northwestern Cebu last Saturday evening and ended at the Family Park in barangay Talamban, Cebu City yesterday morning with the a time of 10 hours, 32 minutes and 33 seconds, edging leg one champion Jieter Bada, who finished second with a time of 11 hours, 39 minutes and 28 seconds.
Rounding off the top three male runners was Ruel Gistupa, who clocked 12 hours, two minutes and 41 seconds.
Seigfred Adlao claimed fourth place with a time of 12 hours, 16 minutes and 32 seconds while Melandro Cuyos clocked 12 hours, 25 minutes and 36 seconds for fifth place.
Virginia Parajenog dominated the distaff side after she finished in 13 hours, eight minutes and 52 seconds.
Veteran ultra runner Rhodora Oporto finished second with a time of 13 hours, 32 minutes and 20 seconds. Catherine Arias settled for third place, clocking 13 hours, 35 minutes and 12 seconds.
