All the drama that has surrounded the 36th PBA Governors’ Cup Finals ends tonight as the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters and the Petron Blaze Boosters figure in  a thrilling Game 7 duel at the Araneta Coliseum.

The two squads brace for a fierce battle as stakes are high for tonight’ no-tomorrow game.

The Texters are looking to become the fourth team to win a grand slam, while the Boosters, formerly the San Miguel Beer squad, are looking to cement their status as the winningest squad in the league as they shoot for their league-best 19th championship crown.

Tonight’s game is somewhat unexpected as many believed that the series would be a walk in the park for the powerhouse Texters.

The Boosters, however, have defied the odds as even without four injured key players, they were able to more than hold their own ground against their fancied rivals.

The Boosters drew first blood in the series by taking Game 1, 89-88, behind the buzzer-beating shot of Danny Ildefonso.

The Texters would recover, scoring lopsided victroies in Games 2 (103-85) and (132-105), to move in front, 2-1.

The Boosters, however, refused to roll over and die, tying the series with a 105-83 Game 4 win before grabbing the driver’s seat with a 93-80 win in Game 5. The Texters then bucked elimination and kept their grand slim bid alive with a 104-78 trashing of the Boosters in Game 6.
