Talisay City council defer demolition of Tabunok market

/ 06:58 AM July 17, 2013

THE City Council of Talisay authorized the City Engineering Office to prepare a program of work and estimates for the new three-storey public market in barangay Tabunok.

But it deferred the immediate demolition of the old and dilapidated market building until the city government is able to raise funds for the construction of the new market building.

Councilor Soc Fernandez suggested for the city government to ask for funds from senators for the new market building. The old structures he said are more than 70 years old and are already “worn out.”

Earlier Mayor Johnny V. Delos Reyes said he would also asked President Benigno Simeon Aquino III for funds for the market project. /Correspondent Christine Emily L. Pantaleon
