Lyceum downs mapua
THE LYCEUM Pirates finally got some much needed scoring from other players aside from Shane Ko as Dexter Zamora tallied 22 points to help them pull off a 74-59 win over the Mapua Cardinals in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.
A virtual non-factor in their first few games, Zamora finally got it going as he connived with Ko for a potent backcourt combo. Ko finished with 15 markers.
The Pirates are now at 2-1 (win-loss) while the Cardinals dropped their second game in three games.
Jesse Cantos led the Cardinals with 15 points as they struggled mightily from the combined nine-point output of top guns Joseph Eriobu and Kenneth Ighalo. Before yesterday’s game, each player was averaging 20 points per game. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
