RAPE SUSPECT CHARGED

THREE cases were filed yesterday against the principal suspect in the kidnapping and rape of a 16-year old girl in Naga City, southern Cebu.
Frederick Benedict Go was charged for abduction, rape, and violation of Republic Act 7610 of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Chief Insp. George Ylanan, head of the Special Operations of the Regional Office in Central Visayas, said they filed the cases separately upon the advice of the provincial prosecutor.
The abduction case was filed in Naga City while the two other cases were filed in Talisay City.
Ylanan clarified that based on the girl’s affidavit, the victim was abducted in Naga City and was raped in a motel in Talisay City.
Two other suspects have also been arrested. They were identified as Jojo Himarangan, 19 and Joey Dela Cruz, 19.

COUSINS ACCUSED OF STEALING PIGS

TWO cousins were accused of stealing pigs from a container yard in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Police identified the suspects as Ariel Panilagao and Benji Panilagao, both natives of Davao City.
The two cousins were the caretakers of pigs owned by Victor Noval and Reynaldo Soquiño Jr. Noval and Soquiño are engaged in the buy and sell of pigs.
Police said the pigs owned by Noval and Soquiño arrived in Cebu last June 23.
The pigs were kept in a hog container van in F.F. Cruz at the Mandaue Reclamation Area.
Police said that around 7 p.m. Wednesday, the two suspects went to the container yard and took six of the 97 pigs.
Security guard June Dalaota of Baysa Security Agency saw the two men loading the pigs into a dump truck.
Dalaota said the two suspects made him believe that there was no irregularity when they pulled out some of the pigs.
The security guard said the two men told him that they will pull out the remaining pigs the next day.
The next morning, Noval and Soquiño went to the container yard where they eventually found out that some pigs were missing.
