Traffic rerouting set for Rama’s oath-taking

A TRAFFIC rerouting scheme will be implemented on Sunday in time for the oath-taking of Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama at the Plaza Independencia.
The Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) advised motorists that some portions of M. J. Cuenco Avenue, Osmeña Boulevard, M. C. Briones Street Legaspi Extension and Serging Osmeña Boulevard.
The rerouting will start at 9 a.m. until the activity is finished, said CITOM executive director Rafael Yap.
The Citom said vehicles from the north going to the south of Cebu and vice versa taking the South Road Properties (SRP) will have to pass through the tunnel to their destination.
Vehicles from Carbon area passing along M.C. Briones Street must turn left to Lapulapu Street while those from downtown area bound for the port area must take M.J. Cuenco Avenue and turn right to V. Sotto Street going to the port area.
Passenger jeepneys going to the north reclamation area with route numbers 08E, 12G, 12I and 12J must go through Urdaneta Street and turn left to M.J. Cuenco Avenue, turn right to T. Padilla St., turn left to Benedicto Street. turn left to Gen. Maxilom Avenue then turn right to Andres Soriano Avenue then to the north bus terminal.
Meanwhile, 08F jeepneys going through M.C. Briones Street should turn left to Lapulapu Street turn right to Urdaneta Street turn left to M.J. Cuenco Avenue en route to their destination.
Jeepneys bound for Mandaue City must turn left to M.J. Cuenco Ave., to their usual route and to their point of origin.
Passenger jeepneys with route numbers 02A, 02B, and 02E going to the pier along M.C. Briones Street must turn left to Lapulapu St., turn right to Urdaneta Street turn left to M.J. Cuenco Avenue, turn right to V. Sotto Street. and turn right again to Arellano Boulevard en route to their destination.
Vehicles passing M.C. Briones Street going to M.J. Cuenco Avenue must turn left to Lapulapu Street, turn right to Urdaneta Street, turn left to M.J. Cuenco Avenue and proceed to their destination.
Lastly, passenger jeepneys from the north reclamation area with route numbers 12E, 12G, 12I and 12J along Serging Osmeña Boulevard should turn right to V. Sotto Street., turn left to M.J. Cuenco Avenue and proceed to their point of origin./CORRESPONDENT JOSE SANTINO S. BUNACHITO
