Magniutude 4.9 quake hits Baguio
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines— A 4.9-magnitude earthquake shook the summer capital and nearby La Trinidad, Benguet, early morning Monday but local officials and disaster response agencies had not reported any quake-related damage or casualty.
A bulletin from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck at 12:49 a.m. Its epicenter was located at 10 kilometers northwest of Baguio City.
The earthquake was felt at Intensity IV in Baguio and La Trinidad. The ground shaking was strong enough to rouse some residents from their sleep.
