CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama wants his office heads and administrative officers to undergo training and reassessment of their functions in order to “maximize” their full potential and streamline their functions.

“Your presence will be vital in the next 100 days as we jointly begin my second term as Mayor of the City of Cebu,” Rama said in a June 18 memorandum.

Rama has scheduled a four-day reassessment on June 20, 21, 24 and 25 respectively for the 21 different City Hall offices and offices attached to the Office of the Mayor which will be held at the Human Resource Development Office training room.

“He (Ponce) can continue to be my spokesperson, trouble shooter just in case, on anything. I wish that he should take over and he should also be hand in hand coordinating with city attorney on legal matters,” he said.

This early, Rama said, he already wanted to make it known that he would have Ponce who is now head of the City Solid Waste Management Board, as his executive assistant.

Ponce, whom he described to be performing, very loyal, keen, intellectual and has courage to stand up for him, is who he needs to be part of his executive team.

“I need people working under my stewardship who are continuopusly defending, making statements on behalf of the mayor,” he said.
