MANILA, Philippines–As part of its commitment to join the nation in celebrating the country’s 115th Independence Day Wednesday, Inquirer Libre produced a special cover depicting a stylized ‘Cry of Pugad Lawin’.’

And to add a twist, the special Inquirer Libre copies were distributed in the different LRT 1 and 2 and MRT train stations and at a job fair at the Luneta by a team wearing Katipunero costumes.

The special cover, which was the false front page for the June 12, 2013 edition, tweaked the ‘Pugad Lawin’ incident with Andres Bonifacio holding his gulok on his right hand and a copy of Inquirer Libre on his left. In the foreground, numerous hands were waving copies of folded Inquirer Libre.
