MMDA to pursue case vs truck driver over accident that killed laborer

MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority is bent on pursuing the case against the driver and the company that owns the trailer truck that crashed into the rear of the agency’s fire truck in Makati City, resulting in the death of the agency’s laborer.

Arsenio Elopre, 39, a laborer of the MMDA died Sunday night at the hospital after he sustained head injuries from the accident, which occurred along Osmeña Highway in Makati on Sunday morning.

Francis Martinez, head of the Metro Parkway Clearing Group of the MMDA, said Elopre, a worker of the agency for six years, was standing atop the MMDA firetruck when the trailer truck hit them.
