The late boxing promoter and manager Lope “Papa” Sarreal was the father-in-law of Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, the country’s junior lightweight champion. Sarreal, known as the “Grand Old Man of Philippine Boxing,” produced 22 world champions, including Elorde who married his daughter Laura.
