Trike driver killed
A TRICYCLE driver was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in barangay Tanke, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
Police said personal grudges or illegal drug connections could be the motive in the killing of Mesael Amore Rollorata, 36.
Police said the victim was driving his tricycle Monday morning when the assailant appeared from behind and shot him in the head.

Woman hacked by daughter’s lover
Article continues after this advertisementA 55-YEAR-OLD woman was stabbed by her daughter’s live-in partner inside her house in barangay Mayana, Barili town, southwest Cebu.
Article continues after this advertisementPablita Declanan was wounded in the stomach and right elbow. She was brought to the Barili District Hospital.
The suspect, Rosalio Lacostales Roque, 36, fled.
Police said the victim’s family and Roque are at odds after the man’s live-in partner broke up with him.
The woman even sought a protection order from the barangay after the suspect allegedly mauled her.
Police said that last Monday night, Roque and Declanan’s husband Martin argued.
At the height of the argument, Roque pulled out a knife and tried to stab Martin.
Martin parried the blows and ran for safety.
Roque chased Martin in his house and chanced upon Pablita having dinner.

Man hacked by neighbor
A 19-YEAR-OLD man was hacked by his neighbor after they argued in a traffic accident in barangay West Poblacion, Naga City, southern Cebu.
Serlito Valmoria, 19, was treated at the Cebu City Medical Center for a hack wound in the forehead.
The suspect, Renante Navales Bacalso, 45, was arrested after Monday’s incident.
Police said Bacalso was driving a motorcycle when he accidentally hit the trisikad driven by Valmoria while trying to overtake another vehicle.
The two men argued.
Bacalso went home but returned a few minutes later and attacked Valmoria with a bolo, police said./CNU INTERN ALLET MARY TEVES
Briton mauled in Lapu
A 56-YEAR-OLD Briton was mauled by three men whom he said demanded money from him in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.
Thomas James Lloyd told police he came from a drinking session and was walking along road yesterday dawn when three men approached him and demanded cash.
The foreigner, who is staying in a pension house in barangay Pusok, said the three men took turns in beating him when refused to give money.
The attackers fled after the incident, leaving the victim sprawled on the ground.
A resident in the area brought the foreigner to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital.
The victim said he could identify the assailants if he sees them again.
