Graduating IT students who are financially constrained may avail of the program
Smart Communications Inc. is sustaining its SWEEP scholarship program for the third straight year as it aims to support graduating students who are financially constrained to finish that last mile in school.
The scholarship program, which is now on its third year, is open to all full-time, graduating students taking up Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, and Information and Communication Technology from partner state and local universities and colleges under the Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP).
Only students who are not recipients of other scholarships may apply for the grant. SWEEP scholars will have tuition subsidy and book allowance per semester, and a monthly stipend.
“Smart is not only harnessing mobile and communications technology to help enhance the quality of Philippine education. We are also helping make education more accessible to graduating students who excel academically but may have financial difficulties,” said Ramon Isberto, Smart Public Affairs head.
SWEEP is an industry-academe partnership that seeks to improve the level of technology and engineering education in the country, particularly in the field of Information and Communications Technology.
