MANILA, Philippines — Due to transmission glitches, members of the board of election inspectors (BEI) in some provinces have resorted to physically bringing the PCOS machines’ CF cards to municipal and city canvassing centers, but a poll watchdog said they expect an “influx of transmission” Wednesday night.

Henrietta “Tita” de Villa, chairperson of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), admitted that the transmission of data to the transparency server has been sluggish due to difficulties faced by BEIs in the provinces.

After talking to Comelec Commissioner Christian Lim, De Villa learned that some BEIs in provinces have decided to bring CF cards to the municipal and city canvassing centers due to transmission problems.

“They are transmitting data from the municipal and city canvassing centers. It has slowed down but we do expect that this afternoon or tonight, there will be an influx of transmission,” she said.

“We hope and pray for faster transmission. If not, we will ask Comelec again why,” said De Villa.
