THE REIGNING champions Ateneo Blue Eagles try to kickstart the second round with yet another win over archrivals Far Eastern University as the two protagonists from last year’s finals figure in their second meeting in just a week in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Blue Eagles creamed the Tamaraws last Sunday, 69-49, to sweep the first round and stand out from the rest of the pack with a 7-0 (win-loss) record.

The turning point of that game came in the final period, when the Blue Eagles came away with 14 points in just one possession as the Tamaraws imploded with a technical foul from Terrence Romeo and an unsportsmanlike foul from Russell Escoto.

The Tamaraws are currently tied for third place in the standings with a 4-3 record, the same with La Salle. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
