Cops, media in minor scuffle as Estrada, wife vote in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Voting in one of the precincts in Manila was temporarily halted after a slight commotion broke out between the police and media when former President Joseph Estrada and wife Dra. Loi Ejercito cast their ballots for the first time in Manila.

Estrada is running for mayor against incumbent Alfredo Lim.

The members of the press were positioned by the door of Precinct 2591B at Padre Burgos Elementary School but when the security of the former leader tried to cover Estrada while voting, the media moved closer for a better photo opportunity.

Voters moved to the far side of the room to avoid being pushed.

After about 30 minutes, the former first couple voted.
