Granny killed at home

A 66-year-old grandmother was shot dead in her home in Tagbao, a mountain barangay in Cebu City.

Virgilia Rota Bontilao, a farmer, was found by her stay-in house helper with gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.

Police are still investigating the motive of the killing.

Jake Pitogo, 19, said the main door of the widow’s house was already unlocked when he arrived home around 9 p.m. Saturday.

Pitogo said he later found the victim lying in a pool of blood.

The victim’s three grandchildren who slept beside her were unharmed.

Police recovered three slugs and three empty shells for a .45 caliber pistol in the crime scene.
