Prime Asia, Lion Tiger post wins
The Prime Asia-University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers and the Lion Tiger-University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers started the second round the way they kicked off the first—in victorious fashion —as they clobbered their opponents in the Enervon-Cesafi Partner’s Cup yesterday at the Cebu Coliseum.
UV downed San Marino Corned Tuna-Cebu Institute of Technology Wildcats, 101-71, while USPF got its second win of the tournament with an 83-68 win over the Raphael’s Sports Bar-University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.
USJ-R started off great and led, 21-15, but saw the bottom fall out in the second canto as USPF’s Joseph Sedurifa sparked a stirring turnaround by scoring 17 of his 22 points in that stretch.
The Panthers eventually outscored the Jaguars, 33-13, in that canto to take a 48-34 lead at halftime, a lead they never relinquished until the end.
Raphael’s remains without a win in six tries while Lion Tiger improved to 2-4.
John Abad buried four three-pointers for UV on his way to tallying 14 points while Alfred Codilla added 11. UV which remained unscathed in six games.
