No Capitol funds used in recent Kabayo Festival

/ 08:00 AM May 01, 2013

The Cebu provincial government  did not spend a single centavo in the three-day annual Cebu Horse Congress and Festival.

The funding was sourced out from private sponsorship, said Anton Quisumbing, president of the organizing Cebu Equine Owners Breeders Sportsman Association (Ceobsa).

Quisumbing estimated the cost of hosting the event “in millions” but did not specify.

Last Friday, the Ceobsa opened the annual horse show and competition at the South Road Properties.

Quisumbing said they haven’t had difficulty in pushing this time to use the SRP. “The mayor (Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama) was very receptive,” he said adding that holding the event at the SRP has been their long time dream.
