Stolen

An overseas Filipino worker lost her cash worth P50,000 and 300 Singaporean dollars to pickpockets inside an uptown mall in Cebu City last Monday afternoon.

Rhea Joy Roxas, 28, of Mandaue City reported the theft to police who with the help of the security camera of the mall identified one of the pickpockets.

Police later arrested Ferdinand Santiago, 38, of Cagayan de Oro City. He was caught in A. Lopez Street, barangay Calamba, Cebu City last Monday night.

Two men robbed a convenience store in barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City yesterday and fled with at least 5,000 in cash and four cell phones.

Marly Pacquiao, store’s salesclerk, reported the robbery to police. Pacquiao said a man entered the store at 4:35 a.m. and pretended to buy cigarettes. Shot dead

A motorcycle riding gunman shot dead a security guard in barangay Bagay, Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu last Monday.

Ronel L. Dosdos died after he was shot five times in the chest.

Police arrested Robert Tiga of barangay  Dalingding Sur, Medellin, hours after the incident.

The gunman Rodel Tiga is at large.

Witnesses told police that the victim and the suspects had an argument during a benefit dance.

Suicide

A 37-year-old farmer whom family members claimed to have suffered from a nervous breakdown was found hanging dead inside their house in barangay Tabunan, Cebu City last Monday.

The body of Renato Claros, 37, was found by his daughter.

His wife Leony Claros said her husband had been saying that someone was trying to kill him a few hours after he was found dead.

The victim was brought to the funeral parlor to undergo an autopsy./Correspondent Michelle Padayhag

Mauled

A jeepney driver accused a Talisay City police officer of mauling him and pointing a gun at him in barangay Tabunok, Talisay City last Sunday afternoon.

Chokie Vallente of barangay Dumlog, said in his complaint that he accidentally bumped PO2 Roderick Balili who was driving his motorcycle.
