In Lapu-Lapu City, two children scavenging for scrap that they could sell to the junkshop found a two to three month old fetus at a mini-dumpsite in sitio Amha of barangay Agus.
The 7- and 11-year-old children reported what they found to a barangay worker at the barangay hall. They described the fetus as a small baby wrapped by a piece of cloth and placed inside a shoe box.
PO3 Winston Ybañez of the Homicide Section of the Lapu-Lapu City police led a team to the area to check on the report.
Police found the fetus and started investigating to find out out who threw the fetus at the dumpsite.
Yesterday, the baby was picked up by a local funeral parlor, who was tasked to bury the baby in the public cemetery.
