Police investigating carjacking incident inside Camp Crame
MANILA, Philippines – A fact-finding team is investigating 38 to 39 officers of the Philippine National Police’s Police Security Protection Group (PSPG) for an alleged carjacking incident that reportedly happened in Camp Crame a month ago, police authorities said on Wednesday.
The fact-finding body is investigating how a red Toyota Innova (NOS-135), received by a Senior Police Officer 1 Gerry Santos and being used by a Senior Superintendent Glenn dela Torre, was allegedly stolen while parked in front of the PSPG office in Camp Crame sometime between June 19 to 20, PSPG chief of staff Senior Superintendent Ramon Apolinario said.
The PSPG is conducting an investigation on the possible administrative liabilities of their personnel in the incident. He said that the Highway Patrol Group and Quezon City Police District, are likewise investigating the incident.
All of the officers under scrutiny had undergone polygraph tests, said Apolinario.
