MANILA, Philippines – Roughly P1million worth of property went up in smoke when fire gutted a commercial establishment in Manila early Friday, an investigator said.
Case investigator, Senior Fire Officer 3 John Joseph Jalique, said fire blazed through a three-story building of Rocas Merchandise Corp. on Reina Rehente Street in Recto, Manila at 8:47 a.m.
He said the building, owned by a certain Raymond Uy, houses fabric and textile products.
While authorities have yet to determine the cause of fire, Jalique said the blaze may have started at the middle portion of the second floor.
The fire reached fourth alarm, but was put out at 11:11 a.m., without any injuries.
