Aquino to campaign for LP’s Maguindanao, ARMM candidates Friday
COTABATO CITY, Philippines—President Aquino is scheduled to proclaim on Friday the candidates of the ruling Liberal Party, led by incumbent Maguindanao Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu in Buluan town.
Mujiv Hataman, acting governor for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said his office has been preparing other presidential activities, apart from the Buluan proclamation rally that would endorse the candidacies of reelectionist Mangudadatu, his running mate Datu Odin Sinsuat Mayor Lester Sinsuat, and their party line-up.
Hataman said the President would drop by the Office of the Regional Governor complex to lead, among others, in the symbolic inaugural of a new educational building at the Mindanao State University worth P1 billion.
Mangudadatu’s team faces United Nationalist Alliance’s Sultan Kudarat Mayor Tocao Mastura and running mate Ali Midtimbang.
Mangudadatu vowed to muster an impressive crowd on Friday despite tight security imposed by Palace guards and other government forces.
