CDN loses to ABS-CBN
FOR THE LARGE part of the game, Cebu Daily News Siloys were in the thick of the fight but once again faltered at the crunch and yielded a tough 74-81 loss to ABS-CBN Kapamilya in an exhibition game at the Mabolo Sports Complex yesterday.
Poor endgame poise has been the Achilles Heel of the Siloys, who may have to wait a little longer before finally tasting that first win since it was formed last month.
Missing two key players in Johnny Tabuco and Neil Tecson, the Siloys engaged the Kapamilyas in a nip-and-tuck battle but ultimately caved in in the closing minutes.
Jonas Panerio’s outside sniping and Christopher Caruana’s inside incursions powered the Siloys to a strong start that saw them ending the first quarter down by just a hairline, 19-20. CDN closed the half with a 42-41 edge.
Panerio led the way for the Siloys with 35 markers, while Caruana finished with 21.
Efren Torrevillas powered the Kapamilyas with 36 points.
