Arellano faces SSC
THE SAN Sebastian Stags will try to play catch up once again with the San Beda Red Lions when they take on the Arellano University Chiefs in the 87th NCAA basketball tournament today at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Stags and the Red Lions, protagonists in the finals of the last two seasons, have been mired in a see-saw battle for the lead in the standings all-tournament long.
With San Beda scrapping past Mapua, 74-68, last week, a win that put their record at a clean 7-0 (win-loss), the Stags will try to equalize that with a win over the Chiefs.
The Stags have some tweaking to do on their own as they narrowly escaped the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals, 77-70, last week, a game that saw San Sebastian almost lose a 17-point lead. Meanwhile, the main offing of the double-header today will see EAC taking on the Perpetual Help Altas. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
