Of the 65,000 examinees that took the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT) last year, around 13,000 students, or roughly 20 percent, passed the examinations. The examinees’ scores in the five-hour examination, which includes sub-tests on language proficiency, science, mathematics and reading comprehension, are combined with their high school grades to determine their acceptance into the university.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
