Traffic heavy in parts of Metro Manila after downpour—MMDA
MANILA, Philippines – Traffic remains tight in several areas in Metro Manila even as flood waters caused by the downpour Friday afternoon have subsided, an official of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.
Jerry Rosal of MMDA’s Metrobase said traffic was heavy along the northbound lane of EDSA from Ayala to Ortigas, as well as on the opposite lane along Kamuning flyover to Ortigas.
MMDA said Quezon Avenue/Biak na Bato, Espana-Blumentritt and E. Rodriguez-Araneta were hit by flashfloods, causing the flow of traffic in these areas to slow down, even rendering a portion of Biak na Bato impassable to light vehicles.
The waters have since receded.
