POLICE are searching for a 23-year-old man accused of killing his live-in partner in barangay San Roque, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

Gedioso Liwanan, 23, a native of Surigao del Sur, was tagged as a suspect in the killing of Bridget Garbo, 29.

The couple rented one of the rooms of a house owned by Epifanio Bautista in sitio Laray.

Police said the couple were seen arguing outside Bautista’s house Tuesday night.

The couple then entered their room where the woman was later heard shouting for help.

When the room became silent, Bautista’s niece checked on the woman and found her with a polo shirt tied around her neck. The woman also had head injuries.

Paramedics from the Talisay City Rescue Emergency Action Team rushed the woman to the Talisay City District Hospital but the attending physician declared her dead.

Liwanan was no longer around when police arrived.

PO3 Benidicto Lasque of the Talisay City police said they recovered a knife in the room.

Police recommended to have the woman’s body examined to determine the cause of death.
