Bauhinia burglary
Burglars hit a house in barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City last Sunday and fled with at least P500,000 worth of valuables and cash.
Engineer Rogelio Lim and his wife, Alice, reported the incident to police after they discovered it Sunday morning.
Mabolo police said the perpetrators could have struck at past 3 a.m. when the Lim family were sleeping.
The burglars destroyed the screen door to enter the house at the Yap Compound, Bauhinia Drive.
The Lims told police that the burglars took P400,00 worth of Rolex watch, a P30,000 worth of iPhone 5 cellphone, a Blackberry cellphone worth P10,000, a Valley leather bag worth P12,000, a Prada wallet worth P20,000 and a Tod’s wallet worth P15,000. Article continues after this advertisementTwo armed men robbed a store in Liloan town northern Cebu and fled with at least P40,000 worth of gadgets.
Gemma Baja, 54, told police that she and her 14-year-old daughter were manning their sari-sari store at 1 p.m. when armed men suddenly entered and announced a holdup.
One of the robbers fired a warning shot after Baja started arguing with one of the robbers.
The armed men took cash worth P4,000, a laptop, an avatar table, and a cell phone.
The robbers then fled aboard a motorcycle with their loot.

Barili break in
Burglars entered a businesswoman’s house in sitio Alen, barangay Mantalongon, Barili town in southwestern, Cebu and fled with at least P18,000 worth of cash and gadgets.
Emalinda Dejeto told police that she and her husband didn’t notice the thieves enter their house at past 3 a.m. last Sunday.
Dejeto said the burglars entered the house by destroying the door at the back of the house. Police were still investigating the burglary./Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
INDIAN VICTIMIZED
Three men on a motorcycle, one of them armed with a gun, robbed Raman Deep Singh, an Indian businessman, as he was collecting money from his clients in barangay Cogon, Pardo last Sunday.
The robbers stopped their motorcycle near him, got off the bike, and approached him. One of them pulled out a gun and declared a holdup. The robbers took his collections worth P14,000 and fled. ./Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
Road accidents
A man died while three others were injured in separate vehicular accidents in Cebu over the weekend.
Joie Demiar Aballe, 30 was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with an ambulance at the national highway of barangay Lugo, Borbon town, northern Cebu last Saturday.
Police said Aballe was with negotiating a curved road with his back rider Arnold Pagatpat when they collided with the Medellin town ambulance.
Police said the ambulance driven by Felizardo Abrion was transporting a patient heading for Cebu City.
Aballe suffered serious body injuries and didn’t reach the hospital alive. Pagatpat suffered injuries in the body and was admitted at the hospital for treatment.
Ambulance driver Abrion surrendered to the police.
Last Sunday morning, Paulo Gamboa, 78, sustained minor injuries after a motorcycle driven by Roland Vosveld, a British national, sideswiped him as he was walking down the road in Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.
Police released Vosveld after he promised to shoulder the hospital bills of the victim.
In the afternoon, in Sibonga town, southern Cebu, a 24-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle as he was negotiating a curved road in barangay Bato, slammed into the gutter and fell into a ravine.
Alexis Evangelista suffered injuries in his body and was admitted at the hospital for treatment. /Correspondent Joy Cherry S. Quito
