MAN KILLED IN TALISAY

A 29-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men in barangay Tanke 2, Naga City, southern Cebu.

Danilo Bucao was shot while sitting by the roadside on Friday night. The victim died on the spot with three gunshot wounds neck.

PO1 Rodjie Alicaway, desk officer of Naga City police, said one of the alleged suspects, Rendel Ray Puno, surrendered to the police at dawn yesterday.

AN 81-YEAR-OLD woman allegedly committed suicide by setting herself on fire in barangay Malabago, Badian town, Cebu.

Police said the body of Marcela Apostol was found beneath a pile of dried coconut leaves.

PO3 Emelio Carungay, investigator of the Badian police, the woman was last seen eating rice cake in the kitchen of her house.

The victim’s older sister told police that she shouted help when she saw flames in the kitchen.

Residents helped put out the fire and found the victim’s burnt body, police said. Police said there were no signs of foul play./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
