The National Capital Region posted the highest number of index crimes or crimes against persons and property (murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery and theft) among the country’s regions in 2012. It accounted for around 38,000 cases last year or about 29 percent of the more than 129,100 incidents recorded nationwide. Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
