Game Two
3 p.m. — Cagayan Valley vs NLEX
The NLEX Road Warriors will be looking to capture their fourth straight crown as they gun for a sweep of their best-of-three finals series against the upstart Cagayan Valley Rising Suns today in Game Two in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the San Juan Arena.
The Road Warriors practically sashayed to the Game One win as they dominated the series opener, 87-63, with five players scoring in double-figures led by NCAA MVP, Ian Sangalang, who had 15 points. Cebuano big man, Greg Slaughter, formerly of the Ateneo and the University of the Visayas added 11 more as NLEX asserted themselves both inside and out.
Cebuano guard Eliud Poligrates paced the Suns in Game One with 15 points but did not get nearly enough support from the rest of his team. Ping Exciminiano and James Forrester each had four points, underscoring the lack of other dependable scoring options for Cagayan Valley.
