Aquino leads Edsa rites Monday

MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III arrived at the People Power Monument in Quezon City on Monday for the 27th anniversary of the People Power Revolution.

Aquino, who arrived before 8 a.m., led the flag raising ceremony. The President was also expected to give a speech later.

Also present in the  event were Senatort Franklin Drilon,  administration senatorial candidates Risa Hontiveros and Bam Aquino, among others.

With the theme: “Pilipinas Natin, Abot-Tanaw Na!” the highlight of the celebration will be the “Salubungan” which will start in front of the Philippine National Police headquarters, Camp Crame and Gate 3, Camp Aguinaldo  to the People Power Monument in Quezon City.
