BOYS SUFFER ELECTRIC SHOCK

THREE teenagers aged 14 and 15 suffered burns after they climbed an electric post in barangay Daanglungsod, Toledo City on.

SP01 Jerson Lebumfacil, desk officer of the Toledo City Police Station said, based on the investigation, the three tried to cut off the live electrical wire of the Cebu Electric Cooperative (CEBECO) post in sitio Larap around 7 p.m. Thursday.

Police said the three boys were helping each other in climbing up at an electric post to cut off the wires.

As the boys were cutting the wires, electricity ran through their bodies because of electrical short-circuit, police said.

A father of one of the boys said he was inside his house when he heard his son shouting for help.

When he checked the area, Eduardo said, the boys were already on the ground with burns in their bodies.

MAN KILLED BY NEIGHBOR

A 62-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed dead by his neighbor in barangay Monserat, Pilar town in Camotes Island, Cebu.

Police said a personal grudge was the likely motive when Abello Mascariola, 25, stabbed Alejandro Sondo with a kitchen knife around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Sondo suffered stab wounds in the chest and back. He died before reaching the hospital.

The suspect remains at large, police said.

Insp. Bernabe Coyoca, chief of Pilar police, said Sondo was drinking with friends about 100 meters from his home when Mascariola arrived and stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife.

MOTORIST DIES IN MISHAP

A 19-YEAR-OLD man was killed after the motorcycle he was driving rammed into another motorcycle in barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Marc Anthony Fernandez, a resident of barangay Guindaruhan, sustained head and body injuries. He died while being treated at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Police said Fernandez was driving toward Cebu City past 10 a.m. Wednesday when he accidentally hit a motorcycle driven by Marcial Alfante, who was crossing toward the other lane.

The impact threw Fernandez off the motorcycle.

Alfante also lost control of the motorcycle and hit an Elf cargo truck.
