Family of four killed in Sultan Kudarat ambush

COTABATO CITY, Philippines—Unidentified men on Wednesday killed at least four members of a family, including a pastor, in an ambush in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, the police said Thursday.

The victims, Rey Debarbo, 45, a protestant pastor and businessman; his wife Reynalie; and children Catherine Faith, 14; and Karen, 8; were heading home from a birthday party in private vehicle when they were fired upon around 9 p.m., Sultan Kudarat provincial police director Senior Superintendent Alex Dela Rosa said.

“We are still investigating the motive behind the attack as well those behind it,” he said.
