19 areas under signal number 1
MANILA, Philippines—Nineteen areas were put under Signal No. 1 as tropical depression “Crising” moved closer to the southern tip of Davao del Sur Tuesday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its latest weather update, Pagasa said the areas under Signal No. 1 are the following:
1. Davao del Norte,
2. Davao del Sur,
3. Samal Island,

6. southern part of Surigao del Sur,
7. Agusan del Sur,
8. Bukidnon,
9. Lanao del Norte,
10.Lanao del Sur,
11. North Cotabato,
12. Maguindanao,
13. Sultan Kudarat,
14. South Cotabato,
15. Sarangani,
16. Misamis Occidental,
17. Zamboanga del Norte,
18. Zamboanga del Sur,
19. Zamboanga Sibugay.
As of 11 a.m., Crising was plotted some 100 kilometers southeast of General Santos City.
Crising carries maximum winds of 45kph near its center and is seen to move west northwest at 22 kph.
Pagasa also reminded residents living in low lying mountainous areas under public storm warning to be on the lookout for possible flashfloods and landslides. It said the estimated amount of rainfall is at 5 to 15 mm per hour within the 300 km diameter of Crising.
“Fishing boats and other small sea craft are advised not to venture out into the northern and eastern seaboards of the country. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 p.m. today. [Tuesday],” Pagasa said.
