USC north 1 advances to 16-under semis

THE UNIVERSITY of San Carlos (USC) North 1 punctuated its entry into the semifinals with a resounding 67-53 win against Don Bosco 2 in the 16-under division of the 2013 Cebu Elite Basketball League over the weekend at the USC North gym.

The semifinals will be held this Saturday at the same venue, wherein the highly regarded USC North 1 team will be tested to the hilt against the much-improved University of the Visayas team.

The other semis pairing will pit the USC South against the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles.

In other results in the 16-under, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) ended its stint on a high note as it beat the Don Bosco 1, 50-40.

FEATURED STORIES

In the 13-under division, the USC North 1 will face off against sister team, USC South, while Don Bosco 1 dukes it out against UV.

In games in the 19-under division, UV solidified its bid for the next round as it logged two wins last weekend. UV first survived the Cebu Eastern College, 47-37, then beat the Athletes for Christ in Excellent Service (ACES), 86-72.

The Aces bounced back with a 73-55 win over USPF while USC-T downed USC-R, 63-55.
