CIDG to hold turnover rites for new chief
MANILA, Philippines–Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group is set to have its new chief later this Thursday following the resignation of Police Director Samuel Pagdilao last week.
The incoming head of the CIDG will be Chief Superintendent Frank Uyami, who will be formally installed in a turnover ceremony at the CIDG office inside Camp Crame in Quezon City, said a source who requested anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to talk to media.
Uyami, a member of PMA class ’82, was the former head of Pasig City police and PNP’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force.
Later in the day, the Public Information Office confirmed the turnover ceremony but refused to identify the incoming CIDG chief.
