CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines—Several coastal towns in Cavite were submerged in knee-deep floodwaters caused by continued rainfall Wednesday. Flooding was also reported in various places in Batangas and Rizal.

The floods in Cavite prompted the provincial government to suspend afternoon classes from pre-school to the high school in the towns of Rosario, Noveleta, Kawit and Bacoor, said Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla by phone.

In other parts of the province, afternoon classes in Dasmariñas City and in General Trias were also suspended.
