USC Alumni hoop playoffs begins Sunday
THE COMPETITION in the University of San Carlos Boys High Alumni Basketball Association (USCBHABA) is expected to intensify as the playoffs in Division 2 kick off this Sunday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
The top-seeded Yayoy’s Grill will be looking to extend its dominance over the rest of the field when it takes on the eighth-seeded Cebu Elite Basketball Camp.
The tables are tipped in Yayoy’s Grill favor as it boasts of former two-time Cesafi MVP Enrico Llanto and the explosive Nino Ramirez, who is in town on vacation. Also in its stead is rock-solid forward Rocky Alcoseba.
The other playoff matches will pit Gold Funds versus Batch 97, Lux taking on Lite Shipping and Le Grans Cargo battling Dosmiltres.
Gold Funds, Lux and Le Grans Cargo will be armed with a twice-to-beat advantage by virtue of their top four finish after the elimination round.
