Unilink Shipping 5 to face Therese Sportswear in final

UNILINK Shipping and Therese Sportswear forged a championship date after they hacked out separate wins in the Powerball Basketball Tournament last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Gym.

Unilink tallied its sixth win in as many games by dumping Powerball Orange, 130-97, while Therese Sportswear posted a tight 93-88 victory over New Mellenium Hardware.

The championship game will be held on Feb. 10 with Unilink enjoying a twice-to-beat edge against Therese Sportswear.

Richard Arco led the way for Unilink with 41 points, while Mobe Anadon was equally impressive with 35 markers.

Powerball Orange couldn’t keep up with the powerhouse Unilink as it only had five available players.

Therese Sportswear, on the other hand, led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter but New Mellenium rallied in the payoff period but all it could do was to move within five points.

New Mellenium Hardware and Powerball Orange will play for third place.

Lester Dajao led Mellenium with 25 points, while bull-strong forward Christopher Rey Caruana finished with 15 markers.
