Team Echo beats Golf

TEAM Echo beat Charlie, 82-75, Saturday night for its fourth win in eight games (4-4), while the latter dropped to 5-3, win-loss in the second round of the Center Katipunan A. Lopez Christian Organization (CEKALCO)-2013 basketball tournament at the A. Lopez open court.

Echo led, 20-11 in the first period then padded its lead to 15 points, 40-25 at the half. Charlie responded with a 26-23 run in the third to close the gap, 51-63, going to the final quarter where it again outscored Echo, 24-19 but failed to overhaul its second quarter deficit.

Jimbo Villarosa and Ruel Ducayon had 16 points apiece for team Echo while Richard Gubaton and Estoy Panerio paced the losing Charlie with 21 points each.

Earlier, powerhouse Team Delta of Roland “El Presidente” Sameon won by default over Golf team and strengthened its hold of the lead with a 7-1 record. Golf on the other hand, fell to 5-3 card.
