Knife attack leaves teenager dead, friend hurt

A teenager was killed while his friend was hospitalized with serious injuries after several young men ganged up on them as the victims were walking home from a party in Quezon City on Saturday night.

Mark Kenneth Sebastian, 16, a high school student, died due to a lone stab wound in the back.

Case investigator PO2 Alvin Quisumbing said the boy’s companion, Jayson Garcia, 17, suffered a stab wound in the abdomen and remained in critical condition at East Avenue Medical Center.

The victims, both residents of Barangay (village) Pinyahan, were walking home from a birthday party at 11:30 p.m. when they encountered a group of young men who attacked them at the Bureau of Forestry compound on East Avenue.

Quisumbing said they were still investigating the motive for the attack.
