Cops catch burglar, who trips alarm, inside appliance store

POLICE yesterday foiled a burglary attempt after they caught a man as he tried to bring out the appliances from the store.

Felipe Inanoria, 33, of Carcar City was caught red-handed  inside the Quality Appliance store’s comfort room with the stolen goods ready to be brought out through the comfort room window at past 3 a.m. yesterday.

Inanoria, accidentally tripped a burglar alarm inside the appliance store at Jones Avenue, Cebu City.

The alarm relayed a message to the manager, who called the police.

Chief Insp. Wildemar Tiu, chief of Waterfront police said they recovered the appliances worth P90,000 near the comfort room.

These included  two Samsung LED TV units, one Sharp LED with DVD player.

Tiu said P2,000 cash and a cellular phone were, however, missing.

A witness told police that Inanoria, from Carcar City, was with a companion, who managed to escape.

When police arrived with the store manager, Jordin Cardiño, they entered establishment and caught Inanoria.

Inanoria admitted entering and trying to steal the appliances but he denied having a companion./Correspondent Chito O. Aragon
