Body with 68 stab wounds dumped in Negros Occidental–police

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A male body with multiple stab wounds was found dumped in a neighborhood in Bago City, Negros Occidental early Thursday, the police said Friday.

Initial examination by the authorities showed that the unidentified victim, dumped in Purok Balolan, Barangay (village) Tabunan, had 68 stab wounds in different parts of his body. His hands were tied behind his back and legs bound together with his pants and belt.

Police investigation showed that Tabunan residents had heard two motorcycles pass through the area between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Thursday.

Police Officer 3 Calixto Galido said more than two assailants might have been involved.

He also noted that based on the multiple stab wounds inflicted on the victim, the attackers might have been very angry with him.

The body was brought to the Baxter Funeral Homes in Bago City and awaiting possible identification by relatives.
