Like lightning in a bottle, Cary “The Prince” Bullos, attacked swiftly and with certain force as he knocked out Japanese fighter Hideo “Death From Tokyo” Morikawa in just 39 seconds during the main event of the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) Cebu 8 fight card named “Survival” at the packed J Centre Convention Hall in Mandaue City.

Although his URCC Visayas bantamweight crown was not at stake, the pride of Lapu-Lapu fought like it as he forced Morikawa to the corner with powerful kicks. There, Bullos caught his opponent with a thunderous superman punch that sent the latter to the canvas and prompted the referee to halt the fight.

Afterwards, Bullos was in a celebratory mood together with his teammates.

“I really aimed for an impressive fight and I’m glad I did it. I owe it to my training team and sparring partners, all the hard work paid off.”

The celebration was well-deserved for the SelDef MMA squad as Bullos’ teammate, Jimmy “The Silencer” Yabo, pulled off a win via knockout against Lorde Rey Tamit of Python’s Pit in the waning moments of the opening round.

In arguably what was the most entertaining fight of the night, the two engaged in a spirited brawl that was ended emphatically by Yabo, when he connected on a right hook that took the fight out of Yamit.

The Cebuanos domination of the main fight cards was completed by Yaw Yan Ardigma and DefTac Cebu’s Vaugh “The Spawn” Donaire, who displayed his technical know-how on the ground when he locked in a beautiful armbar that forced his opponent, Allan Atup, to tap out early in the first round, thus keeping his mixed martial arts record spotless.
