Agnes to Gwen: Have no fear, go dance
SUSPENDED Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia can dance during the Sinulog grand parade on Sunday without any fear of getting barred from going back to her office at the provincial capitol.
Acting Gov. Agnes Magpale yesterday gave this categorical assurance to her former political ally who have been having second thoughts on joining the celebration amid the standoff that has gripped the Capitol for almost a month.
“Yes, she can come back,” Magpale told reporters.
She said Garcia can leave her office and return after dancing the Sinulog.
Garcia is supposed to dance with the Rosquillos Festival dancers of Liloan town next Sunday as she has done in throughout her tenure as governor in the last eight years.
The suspended governor said she is still weighing her options as she’s still evaluating the risks if she decides to step out of the Capitol where’s she’s been holing up since Malacañang suspended her last Dec. 19.

Garcia was also miffed by Magpale’s statement that she could dance not as governor of Cebu but only as a devotee.
“if she wants to insist that I am not governor, she will have to tell each and every Cebuano that,” she said. “I might find it a laughable and ridiculous thing when she have to approach every Cebuano, as I’m dancing, to tell them she’s not governor, she’s not governor.”.
