Injustice swells NPA ranks

A Pasay City prosecutor loses hundreds of thousands of pesos at the Resorts World casino, according to my sources.

Where does he get all the money to gamble?

What happened to an executive order issued during martial law  banning government personnel from the casinos?

The ban should be strictly-enforced. A government official or employee should not be allowed in the casinos.

A government employee who gambles and loses heavily is likely to be corrupt.

For how can he or she support his/her vice on a government salary?

I’ll bet my last peso that this Pasay City prosecutor sells cases to litigants who offer him the highest bid.

One of the candidates for a high office in Cebu province is known for fixing cases filed in a Court of Appeals (CA) branch in the Visayas.

He reportedly acted as a middleman between corrupt appellate court justices and rich litigants who had pending cases at the CA in Cebu.

This young man earned oodles and oodles of money as his share in fixing cases. People who know him say he’s a chip off the old block.

It’s no longer surprising why many aggrieved citizens join the New People’s Army (NPA) or give the guerrillas financial or moral support because they could not get justice from the courts.

Many cases in our courts are decided based on money and not on merit.

I am not saying all judges and prosecutors are corrupt.  I am saying many of them are.

Aggrieved citizens who can’t find justice from the courts go to the NPA to seek justice, swelling the ranks and mass base of the NPA.

Or they hire assassins to even up the score.

I am not surprised why some judges and prosecutors have been killed by hired guns.

The Aquino administration’s perceived persecution of its political opponents weeks before the start of the election campaign could backfire.

People are aware of the what many believe is   harassment of Pangasinan Gov. Amado Espino and Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia who are not members of the administration’s Liberal Party.

Espino’s rival for the gubernatorial post is from the  LP, while the person who  replaced Garcia, who has been suspended on a graft case, is a sister of Cabinet  Secretary Rene Almendras.

The Aquino administration is making martyrs of Espino and Garcia, never mind whether they’re guilty of the charges against them.

The investigation of Espino on charges that he financed jueteng operations in Pangasinan, and Garcia’s suspension are ill-timed.

Voters might vent their ire on LP senatorial candidates in the 2013 elections.

Why is Rosales (Pangasinan) Mayor Ricardo Revita not being investigated despite a call for an inquiry from the Sangguniang Bayan?

The town council has accused Revita of summary killings and the mysterious disappearance of his political opponents. It also claimed the mayor tolerates gambling in the town.

Revita, the council said, has placed the town under a reign of terror with the help of some members of the police force.

The mayor is a member of the Liberal Party.
